Our New Year

Saturday September 8th 2018 meeting.

The Stamford Bridge Tapestry

Speaker Heather Cawte

Arguably the most important date in the history of England….1066. We all know about William the Conqueror and the Battle of Hastings but do we know our local history?

Stitched in wool on linen the Bayeux Tapestry recorded that fateful day and now the Stamford Bridge Project is using the same technique to commemorate their own battle of the Norman Conquest.

Come along to our first meeting of 2018/2019 at the Darby and Joan Hall in Cottingham where Heather Cawte will give a presentation and talk about the project.
