LOAN EQUIPMENT

The following equipment is available for members to borrow on a monthly basis.

Overlocker machine: sews and trims in one go. Jennie Rayment’s book “Serging for Softies” gives clear instructions for using an overlocker and can also be borrowed.

Smocker: comes with full operating instructions. A £10 deposit is required and broken or bent needles are charged at 50p each.

Cord/Braid winder: will make fine and thick cords and is suitable for left and right handed use.

Wavy border rulers (2” and 3″) and “Creating Waves” book: as used by Lynne Edwards. Book includes 5 projects using both non-slip rulers.

If you would like to borrow any of the equipment, please email eyesembroidery@gmail.com by the Tuesday prior to a meeting, so that it can be available for you to collect on the Saturday afternoon.

*Don’t forget that a scissors sharpener can be used at meetings, when rotary cutter blades, silver Bottomline thread and Schmetz Microtex machine needles will also be on sale.

Sewing machine repairs

However carefully you look after your machine, the time will come when you need help. These days, it can be hard to find someone, so we thought it would be useful to list the people we have heard about. As they say on Strictly, in no particular order:
